Squirrels smash second series race

The second Hatfield 5k race hosted the Herts Veteran’s County Championships on Wednesday evening and drew a competitive field despite the extremely hot and humid conditions. North Herts Road Runners had 33 runners racing with the Men's Vets Team of Stewart Overton, Shahab Ahmad, Matthew Sayers and Kris Whitmore delighted to be crowned county champions. In the individual county competition Stewart was second in the men's veteran 40 race in 16:44, with Astrid McKeown racing strongly to finish 3rd in the women's vet 45 event.
