Both routes start and finish on Leys Avenue and head up towards the train station, turning left and heading down Eastcheap all the way to Gernon Road. The mile is one time round the route described whereas the 5km is a two lap course, meaning that there is another turn at the bottom of Leys Avenue to head back on a second lap.

Road Closures
To ensure the safety of the runners of all abilities, road closures will be in place for Broadway, Broadway Gardens, Leys Avenue and Eastcheap. To minimize inconvenience to road users, these closures will be staggered and temporary. The roads may be closed from 09:00-13:00 but we will try to minimise disruption by staggering the closures according to the plan below:
09:00. Road closure starts in Eastcheap and Leys Avenue to allow the runners to congregate around Leys Square.
09:30-09:45. Road closures start around Broadway Gardens and up to the Worlds First Roundabout (roundabout remains open). This gives time for the road to clear before the race starts.
12:00. Road closures on Broadway will be lifted. Eastcheap and Leys Avenue need to remain closed to allow for clear up.
13:00. Eastcheap and Leys Avenue will be reopened
