It’ll be cold, probably wet and usually muddy otherwise it just wouldn’t be cross country. Don’t worry it’s not like school, there are no PE teachers shouting at you but there may be a coach or two!
We race in the Three Counties Cross Country League with clubs from Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.
The series involves around 5 races between November - January. Dates are decided as the season approaches by the host clubs. North Herts Road Runners usually hosts the Christmas race in December which traditionally has a very festive feel to it (we aim to please). Races are over distances of approximately 5 miles. Men’s and women’s races are run together over the same course. If the guts and glory of cross country isn’t enough to get you out on a cold wintery Sunday morning there is always the sandwich, cake and cup of tea at the finish!
Entry is Free to paid up club member and must be over 17 years old. You must wear an official club vest and your race number that you can collect from the cross country rep at the club. Keep it safe, as you’ll needed it for the duration of the league for use in all races.
As well as the league we compete in a number of other cross country race around the country.
