Often known as the Hidden Disability, Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life – walking, talking, thinking and feeling, the losses can be severe and permanent. Meaning losing both the life you once lived, the person you once were and even the person you once lived with. We work with people over 18 years old who have an acquired brain injury (ABI*) and their carers and families.
We help survivors regain an improved quality of life through a wide range of services, including rehabilitation programmes, carer support and education, social re-integration, peer support groups, community outreach, respite care specialist personal counselling and support with family finances. |
At Headway Hertfordshire our dedicated and highly experienced small team provide a range of services to enable adults with brain injuries and their carers to cope with their life changes and move forward to achieve their best possible outcomes. We work with our clients in groups at local community centres, at home, on the phone, on line or wherever they feel at ease and safe.
*ABI can come from a road accident, a fall at work or elsewhere, a stroke or bleed in the brain or the result of a bran tumour removed but leaving residual damage |
