Squirrels smash running goals from Biggleswade to Exeter

​Although it was a quieter week of racing, Sue Foot did not shirk on distance, opting to run the Greensand Ridge 50k on Sunday. The race was a circular route, starting at Shuttleworth and then heading out into the beautiful local countryside. Sue said the weather conditions were mixed, with “sun, rain, and lots of mud!” She was pleased to finish the course in a very impressive time of 6 hours and 56 minutes.

Run the Wade 5km
​In the same area, Hannah Ridley took part in the inaugural Run the Wade 5km in Biggleswade. Reviewing the new race, she described it as “a nice flat course with parts on the road and parts on the Biggleswade Green Wheel.” She was delighted to finish 1st lady and 6th overall, in a fantastic new personal best of 19:28.

Great West 10k
​Further afield, Elwyn Howell continued to represent the squirrels in his new stomping ground in the west country, taking part in the Great West 10k in Exeter. He completed the hilly course in a great time of 52:58, and was second in his age category.
