![]() The Easter weekend gave North Herts Road Runners members plenty of opportunity to work off their Easter eggs by taking part in races both locally and further afield. In parkrun action on Saturday at Bedford, Andrew Leech lead in the NHRR contingent finishing in 3rd place in a time of 16:36. Next was John Auld who was pleased to finish close to his personal best in 8th position in 17:59. Dave Frampton (23rd in 20:12) and John Cooper (46th in 22:01) also finished in impressive times on this fast course. Also on good parkrun form despite were Darren Matussa who finished the St Albans parkrun in 13th position in 18:59 and Steve Lummis who was very pleased with his time of 22:47 (76th). Marathon experts Sue Foot and Jo Summers were both in double marathon action over the Easter weekend. Sue Foot took part in the ‘Easter Run Around the Reservoir’ in Northampton. Both days consisted of running the marathon distance over 6 laps. In challenging conditions, Sue finished day one on Saturday in 4.26 and day two on Sunday in 4.41. Meanwhile Jo Summers took part in the Great Barrow Road Double in Barrow in Suffolk. She finished the hilly day 1 course in 3.55, a great time despite the wind and hills. Day 2 was on a slightly easier course and she finished in 4:00:54. Further afield, Lucy Goff took part in the IAAF World Championship Half Marathon in Cardiff finishing in 1:58:23 and Linda Aird took part in the Cheer 5, a multi-terrain 5 mile race near Worcester. She enjoyed slipping around the muddy course finishing in 46:52. Last week Dom Buck completed the 16.5 mile Ashridge Boundary Run in 2:27:59 finishing in 100th position and Miranda Morgan completed the course in 2:58:36 in 194th place.
