North Herts Road Runners weekly report – 19 June 2016

On Saturday, David Annetts took part in the Bedford parkrun, winning the race once again in a time of 17:13. Sister-in-law Rachel Annetts also took part, finishing in 114th in 25:34. Also in parkrun action was Joe Sherry who was pleased to finish the 5km Panshanger course in a new personal best of 22:42.

Also on Saturday, two NHRR teams battled round the muddy 34 miles on the Greensand Ridge Relay, a self-guided race. Luckily, the NHRR team members were well prepared and did not get lost en route! The men’s team consisted of Johnny Spinks, Steve McKeown, John Auld, Mark Vaughan, John Rayner and Jon Hunt. They finished in 04:12:54, 9th overall time and 19th in the handicap. The ladies team was Jo Harbon, Helen Ferguson, Katie Harbon, Sue Vaughan, Miranda Morgan and Helen Harbon. They finished in 05:18:58, 32nd overall time and 26th in the handicap.
Further afield, Michelle Grudzinski travelled to Coed y Brenin in North Wales for the Trail Marathon Wales on Sunday. In her first trail marathon Michelle coped well with the hilly terrain and finished in 6:15:36.
