Race Walking - Coaching for Recreation and Competition
Coordinated by Herts Race Walking Secretary David Annetts, a UK Athletics Event Group Endurance Coach and British Masters record holder, the focus is on Introduction, Coaching and learning strong technique - and to funnel newcomers toward development opportunities within a supportive and enjoyable environment.
Working to recruit walkers from all age groups and abilities on a recreational to competitive spectrum Coaching is offered to all Athletics and Running Clubs, Schools, Further & Higher Education, Leisure Centres, Community Groups and individuals.
Race Walking has many positive benefits for participants in exercise, general health and wellbeing and as a technique focussed sport it’s one where male and female athletes of different ages can train and compete very equally together. We’re fortunate in Herts. that opportunities for accessible development competition are nearby within the Enfield League where any new participants can be sure of a warm welcome.
