Squirrel Sprint: Tales from the St Albans 10k and an unexpected Easter Bunny encounter!

St Albans 10k – Run of the Month
Undeterred by the threat of rain, eleven Squirrels competed in the St Albans Easter 10k on Good Friday. This is known as a flat, fast course and there were definitely a few personal bests amongst the club's finishers. Richard Springall was first home for the club, finishing 10th overall in an impressive 36:14. Not too far behind and firmly in the sub-40 club was Mike Phillips in 39:19. Michael Over finished in 40:38, Adrian Sherwood in 41:09, and Natalie Phillips in 48.34. Other finishers were Thomas Wood 52:14, Jenna Manggos 52:45, Tom Kingham 55:35, Linda Aird 56:46, Natalie Fiddy 57:16 and Geoff Davis in 60:29.

Linda Aird commented that the rain didn't really materialise, and the sun came out and warmed us up nicely for the latter part of the race. This is a very popular event, with a large turnout, and a great atmosphere – even if some of us were overtaken by a rather large Easter Bunny en-route!

Elwyn Howell ran the Exwick Fast Friday 10K in a speedy time of 45:52.
