Runners Information – Please Read
Welcome to the Standalone 10k 2026. This is the 39th running of this wonderful community running event. We hope that you have a very enjoyable race.
 
Below, you will find all the information you will require to have a safe and enjoyable run.

Important Bits First
  • The race starts at 9.30am.   
  • Registration closes at 8.45am on race day. 
  • Please arrive at least an hour before the race to pick up your race number, sort out your baggage and go to the toilet.   
  • It takes at least 5 minutes to get to the start. Set off early. 
  • If you can register before race day, please do so. Venue will be confirmed nearer to race day.  
    • Thursday 1st October – 4 pm – 5.30 pm. 
    • Friday 2nd October – 4 pm – 5.30 pm. 
    • Saturday 3rd October – 10 am – 1pm 
    • Standalone Farm – Sunday 6th October – 7:30 am – 8.45 am.

Running Number (Including chip)
  • Our race numbers are reusable.  
  • The timing chip is on the back.  
  • After the race, please return your running number to the bins provided.  
  • If you have a medical condition, you will need to write information on the back of your number in case of an emergency.
 
Race T Shirts
  • Pre-ordered race t-shirts can be collected with your number before race day. 
  • On Sunday your t-shirt can only be collected after you have finished the race  

Getting to the race
Help us make Standalone 10k 2026 as environmentally friendly as possible (click for more info) : 

  • If you live locally, please walk or cycle to the farm.  We will be providing additional cycle racks on the farm, just follow the signs at race HQ. 
  • Standalone Farm is just a 17 minute walk (click here)  from Letchworth Garden City Train station, which is on the London to Cambridge line (click here) 
  • Please car share, if possible, this will also ease pressure on our car park and reduce queues. 
  • Please note that Wilbury Road and Norton Road from Green Lane to Stotfold will be closed to traffic from 8.30am.  

Race day car parking.
  • To minimise the impact on local residents, please don’t park on the roads around the farm. 
  • The main car park is accessed from Stotfold Road, Letchworth, SG6 4JS. 
  • The car park opens at 7:30 am. 
  • Official race parking is free. 
  • Please note, there is NO EXIT from the car park during the race as the exit crosses the race path!  
  • The exit from the car park will open at approx. 10:45 am.   
  • There are NO DROP OFFS at the entrance to the farm on Wilbury Road as this is the emergency vehicle entrance and exit.  
  • There is NO PARKING in the Standalone Farm car parks. 

Dogs
  • For safety reasons we do not allow dogs in the Standalone 10k  
  • Your dog, which must be on a lead at all times, will be allowed in the spectator area along the finish and on the hard standing at the farm.  
  • Dogs are not allowed in the farm itself so if you are planning to visit the animals you will not be able to take your dog with you.

On the Farm
  • Standalone Farm will be open until 4pm for runners and their families to enjoy free of charge. We are putting on additional entertainment for you to enjoy. 
  • The Farm is not open to the public on race day. 

Baggage
  • We will have baggage facilities on the farm. 
  •  You will need your race number to collect your bag. 
 
Toilets
  • Toilets, including an accessible toilet and urinal, will be near registration. 
  • The toilets will contain period products.  
  • Please note that the toilets on the farm will not be open. 

Personal drinks bottles
  • If you would like to bring your own drinks bottle to collect after the finish there will be a table on the hard standing for you to leave your bottle on.  
  • The bottles will be moved to the finish area next to the drinks station.

Recycle old trainers
  • Recycle your old clean trainers, laces tied together, in the bins provided. https://www.jogonagain.com  

Warm up 9.05am
  • Join our organised warm up on the car park area near the entrance to the farm  

​The Start 9.30am
  • The start is in Wilbury Road, a 5-minute walk from the farm.  
  • Please line up in the correct place according to your predicted finish time. 
 
Race Safety
  • Please obey the instructions of the race marshals and police at all times. 
  • You must stay on the left hand side of the road and within the line of marshals and cones on the by-pass. 
  • Wearing headphones (including bone conducting headphones) is prohibited for your own safety and for the safety of other runners. 
  • Failing to comply with any of these instructions will result in disqualification. 
  • Marshals have no powers to stop traffic outside the road closure area therefore all runners are responsible for their own safety. 
  • The race is not suitable for dogs, including guide dogs, wheelchairs or running buggies. 
  • Runners may be asked to move on to pavements so that we can reopen roads. 
  • A water station will be available on the course at 5km. 

The finish
  • The finish area will be in the large car-park in front of Standalone Farm.  
  • Your family and friends can cheer you as you cross the line and meet you afterwards outside the finishers’ area.  
 
Results
  • Results will be available online as soon as you have finished.    
  • These online results will highlight in yellow anyone who has won a prize.  

Presentation
  • Cash prizes will be awarded to 1st 5 men and women and age group winners.  
  • The presentation for the open race and Herts Veteran Championships will take place on the hard standing area at approximately 10.45am. 

Free Race photos
  • Race photos from the finish line and on the course will be provided free to all runners searchable by number or facial recognition.  

Children’s Fun Run
  • The fun run is free but all children and adults taking part must be registered online.
  • Fun run starts at starts at 9.40am. from the hard standing in front of the farm  
  • The run is approximately 800m, along the Greenway, is traffic free and will be marshalled.  
  • If your child is 5 or under, they must be accompanied by an adult.   
  • If you want to run with a buggy, please start at the back and be aware that the run is on a gravel track.  
  • The finish will be through the finish arch of the main race.   
  • After the race your child will be guided to the exit of the finish area, (black NHRR gazebo). Please meet your child there.  

Spectators
  • Standalone is a great venue, not only to race, but also to spectate.   
  • It is traffic free and there will be music while you wait for your runner(s) to finish.   
  • You will be able to purchase refreshments.  
  • The best place to watch the start to watch the start is just outside the Farm. 
  • Please follow the instructions of the marshals on your way back into the farm as the Fun Run will be starting at 9.35am and will be using the finish area.  
  • Spectators are not allowed in the finish area: there is plenty of space along the finishing straight to cheer the runners in. 
  • Most of the course is on closed roads and therefore safe for spectating.

Race Charity
GRIT (Growing Resilience in Teens) is this year’s race chosen charity (April 2025 – Match 2026). They support young people, 11-24 years old, with their mental health people and over the next 5 years expect their service to reach approximately 2,184 young people locally.  In addition to referrals from GPs, young people can be referred from their school in Hitchin and can also self refer via their website. For more information go to: https://gritcharity.org/
