Storming Squirrels defeat Darragh

Stevenage Half Marathon
Rhia Botha, Ian Datlen and David Edwards had a successful morning at the Stevenage Half Marathon, and probably welcomed the sight of the covered underpasses! Rhia said ‘we started off conservatively, but sped up as we went along to try and get out of the wind and rain’. Rhia was 5th lady overall and 2nd in her age category in 1:33:43. Ian and David were both 5th in their respective age categories in times of 1:33:29 and 1:33:55.

Festive 5
Just two squirrels braved the lashing rain and gusting winds at the Welwyn Festive 5 miles organised by Garden City Runners to raise funds for Isabel Hospice.

​Fortunately, the rain lessened slightly during the race and a fast 2 lap course saw Adrian Barnett finish in an excellent 44.45 and Karen Dodsworth delighted to clock 46.44. All finishers were rewarded with a Cadbury selection pack, and Karen reported ;it was a fabulous Christmas event’.

​Milton Keynes Winter Half Marathon
Ten very brave squirrels ran the Milton Keynes Winter Half in gruelling conditions. Wind, rain, mud, cold, and minor floods gave it more.of a cross country feel! Andrew said ‘It was a great route, through some very pretty parts of Milton Keynes.’ Caroline Thrussell won her age category in 1:49:04 and other North Herts Road Runners times were: Kat Burr 1:42:28; Dervla Downing 1:49:04; Sukfan Liu 1:58:31; Michelle Grudzinski 2:05:07; Adam Wilson 2:05:06; Paul Bowal 2:11:05; Emily Yossarian 2:13:09; Andrew Robson 2:21:46; Andy Grudzinski 2:37:39
