Champion of the World!

​This week saw a North Herts Road Runner becomes World Masters M60 5000m Champion. 

Huge congratulations to Andrew Leach who achieved this in a time of 16.59.67. The championships are being held in Sweden.

​Andrew has also entered the 10000m and half marathon, so we wish him all the best for these upcoming races.

The Dorset Doddle
Miranda Morgan opted to celebrate her 69th birthday by running the Dorset Doddle with fellow Squirrel and veteran of long-distance running Sue Foot.

Starting in Weymouth they ran 32.5-miles along the scenic coastal path finishing in Swanage.  Sue described the course as extremely tough; they climbed over 6000 feet and there were lots and lots of steps along the way, but weather was perfect, and both really enjoyed it. 

​They finished their epic adventure in 11 hours. 

Steeple Morden 10k Friendship Run
Anna Greetham, Matt Roberts and Kyle Stout ran the Steeple Morden 10k Friendship Run which was raising funds for the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.  Anna described the event as perfect, well organised and said it was a great way to spend a Sunday morning.

Tavy5K
Stephen Doran who is coming back from injury did the Tavy5K in Tavistock on Saturday in a time of 30:25. Stephen was able to claim the honour of being the first North Herts Road Runner to ever have competed in this race, according to the organisers.
