First Saturday of the Month 5km
We are back!
We are very pleased to announce that after a successful test event in June 2021, the FSOTM is back with some changes, the next event is Saturday 4 September 2021.
If you are new to FSOTM, then please pre-register here before the event, we will allocate you a number/barcode on Friday afternoon.
We won't be allocating numbers/barcodes on race day any more or handing out any barcodes, but you are still welcome to turn up and run and record your own time (please see below for more info).
Here's a list of already registered people, please find yourself on the list, take a note of the page number and print only that page (it is a big file, you don't want to print it all!)
Please read the runbritain covid code of conduct before the event and above all, please don't attend our event if you have any covid symptoms.
Please turn up ready to run at the start at 8:50, there will be nowhere to store any baggage, keys or water at the finish.
There won’t be a safety briefing at the start, instead please watch it online before the event.
The start will be staggered with runners setting off in small groups a few seconds apart.
Recording your finish time:
From August 2021, we will be timing and scanning again so if you have a barcode with you, we will scan it when you finish. If you don't have a barcode with you on the day, take a finish token (and try to remember what finish number you are), take a note of your finish time (there is a finish clock) and after the event, record your finish time here so we can add you into the results.
The 1st Saturday of every month, the run will start at 9.00 am and it takes 5 minutes to walk from the car park to the start.
The run is open to runners of all ages and abilities. This event is free to enter.
Car parking is available close to the start in the outdoor swimming pool car park and bowls club car park, both off Icknield Way, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 4UF. If the car park is full, please park responsibly.
Note: car parking restrictions have changed, parking is free for 2 hours BUT you need to get a ticket so please allow time! More information.
Runners are encouraged to walk or cycle to the event. There are cycle racks in front of the swimming pool. Alternatively, public transport facilities are very good. The start is a short walk from the main line railway station.
There are no toilets or changing facilities. There will be an area to store bags safely at the finish. Water and coffee will be available for all runners at the finish.
The run is a two lap course on Norton Common, an area of natural beauty. The course is footpaths, tracks and grassland and is described as undulating. Normal running shoes can be worn for most of the year. If the weather has been particularly wet, runners may wish to wear studs. Spikes are not advisable.
Download Course Map. This event has an ARC permit.
