First Saturday of the Month 5km
Our event is running virtually at the moment on the 1st Saturday of every month, check out the NHRR forum for more information.
NHRR will be hosting a test event for NHRR members only on Sunday 12 June, if all goes well, we are planning for a real-life event in July, watch this space...
The 1st Saturday of every month, the run will start at 9.00 am and it takes 5 minutes to walk from the car park to the start.
The run is open to runners of all ages and abilities.
How do I register (not needed for the virtual FSOM)?
You have 2 options:
1. Pre-register online (before 2pm on the day before the race) and pick up your barcode on the day.
2. Register on the day
This event is free! When you register you will be given a barcode to keep which you'll need to bring back with you every time you run. If you already have a barcode then no need to register, just turn up and run!
If you misplace your barcode, we have one spare barcode per person so just ask us! Or to get a copy of your barcode to print yourself, please find yourself here. Print out just the page you are on (not the whole file as it is HUGE!), cut out your own barcode and then bring it with you to the race.
Please note, this event isn't a parkrun so parkrun barcodes won't work!
Car parking is available close to the start in the outdoor swimming pool car park and bowls club car park, both off Icknield Way, Letchworth Garden City, SG6 4UF. If the car park is full, please park responsibly.
Note: car parking restrictions have changed, parking is free for 2 hours BUT you need to get a ticket so please allow time! More information.
Runners are encouraged to walk or cycle to the event. There are cycle racks in front of the swimming pool. Alternatively, public transport facilities are very good. The start is a short walk from the main line railway station.
There are no toilets or changing facilities. There will be an area to store bags safely at the finish. Water and coffee will be available for all runners at the finish.
The run is a two lap course on Norton Common, an area of natural beauty. The course is footpaths, tracks and grassland and is described as undulating. Normal running shoes can be worn for most of the year. If the weather has been particularly wet, runners may wish to wear studs. Spikes are not advisable.
Download Course Map. This event has an ARC permit.
